Think back

To any mentor or coach you have had in your life - from little league

all the way through a college advisor. What is one thing all of these people hold in common? I bet I know the answer... IMPACT. Each of them had impact on the trajectory of your life in some form or fashion. Possibly some more than others, and some more positive than others, but all the same.

As an adult, have you ever had that feeling that you probably shouldn't be the one in charge sometimes? Making decisions, taking stock, forming action plans can seem paralyzing sometimes, especially if we find ourselves on the edge of major life change.

Life Coaching first came onto the scene in the 1980s, originating in the United States to assist professionals and business executives run their companies more effectively. Eventually it became popular in the world of professional sports, where athletes and their coaches alike looked for guidance in perfecting their practice. Since then, life coaching has developed many different specific niches not limited to Wellness, Sobriety, Parenting, and so on. Life Coaching is not the same things as therapy or counseling, although it may appear to have similarities. Some highlights to better distinguish the two include:

  • Counseling aims to heal and treat, while coaching is orientated towards health, potential, and wholeness.

  • Counseling emphasizes healing the past and releasing pain, while life coaching helps you focus on the future and motivates you to pursue your passion and dreams.

  • A counselor is perceived as someone who offers insights and intervention, while a life coach is regarded as a partner and guide.

  • A counselor helps reinstate functionality and stability in your life, while a life coach helps you progress on your life path and discover your own calling.

As previously stated, Coaching

COACHING makes in IMPACT. If you feel you have great ideas,

goals, dreams and aspirations that you can't seem to get off the group, coaching may be something you consider!

The commitment to the process may be an invaluable gift to your future self when you're feeling like you’re back in the game!
